Active You - weekly classes for those looking to enjoy fun, social, low intensity exercise. All sessions are delivered by specialist GP qualified exercise instructors and modified to suit all levels - a great way to get started!

Members can access classes as part of their membership package. Class fee £3.20. Programme updated regularly so please check you have the latest version.

 

Class Description:

Walking Football: A slowed down version of the game played indoors. This is an informal ,social game and all are welcome.

Walking Netball: A slower version of the game; it is netball, but at a walking pace. Anyone can play regardless of ability or fitness level. All sessions take place indoors with a warm-up, mini-games and drills followed by a friendly game.

Chair based Exercise: Level 1 and 2 chair-based exercise offers an accessible form of exercise to those individuals requiring adaptations due to health and mobility limitations. Exercises can be performed seated or a mixture of seated and standing. Helps to improve strength, mobility and balance and is suitable for falls prevention and medical rehabilitation.

Zumba Gold: A modified Zumba dance class that recreates the original moves at a lower intensity. Latin based rhythm mixed with some of your favourite songs - can also be enjoyed from a seated position. 

Lifestyle/One Spot Circuits: A low impact exercise class working on cardiovascular fitness, core strength and co-ordination. Mixes aerobic, body weight and mobility exercise without the use of a chair for support.

Living with Parkinson’s Exercise Group: These sessions are for those living with Parkinson’s to come along and enjoy the benefits of taking part in an instructor led exercise and activity session. Sessions includes a mixture of seated/standing strength and balance exercise along with fun activities and the best bit- there is always time for a chat and a brew!

Easy Wheelers Cycle: An indoor group-based cycling session for beginners with the emphasis on steady paced cycling in the saddle with music that you can sing along to as you pedal! Re-live the happy times in the saddle and join our folks on spokes! 

Improve your Core: Beginners level, incorporating the fundamentals of Pilates finishing with relaxation and breath work.
